i'm currently a little over 2 weeks out from my surgery with dr armani in toronto.  i had 3020 grafts placed in zones 1 & 2 to thicken and broaden my hairline as well as fill in my temples. as far as the surgery went it was a very long day but the staff made it as comfortable as possible.  dr armani is great and listened and addressed all my concerns.  there is some pain and swelling involved with the numbing but as you can see by the results everyone is getting it will be well worth it.  right now i just been busy trying to follow the post op instructions as close as possible and bugging eric with all my questions.  can't wait for my scabs to fall off but other then that i'm just enjoying the journey to my new head of hair. here are some before and after pics if you have any questions please feel free to ask

cotton,

I am 24 and just got a tranplant a few months ago.  You were def. losing some hair and i think it was a good idea to get the transplant done.  You werent dead bald but with the graft placement in these pics your hairline is going to look sick.

At the end of the day if you were insecure about something and getting your hairline back to a two finger rather than a two car garage is a SICK MOVE.

Alot of people told me the same thing, that i didnt need anything done in the hairline just the crown.  You know what i tell them its my hair and my money go see where you got to go.

Keep us updated with your progress.

thanks teddy, that's how i was always raised, if you don't like something fix it, i didn't want to pass by a mirror and everytime look in it and say man your losing your hair. was i really bald, no but i was for sure lost my temples and my hairline was thinning and had raised up.  also i must have needed it if i had to have over 3000 grafts done, that no small surgery. the circumstances were there so i went ahead and had it done and i feel great.  i really been following your surgery closely teddy because your about my age, from around the same area, (nj) and i really liked your hairline design, i went with the broader square hairline because i saw how good yours looked and i wanted the same design. thanks for sharing your story and posting pics.

i'm not going to lie it was a very very long day for me. dr armani did my evaluation that morning which went great, he listened and we agreed 100 on what i wanted to do.  he's a very nice dr and will address all your concerns.  it takes about 3-4 hours to do the extraction, then it takes about 2 hours for the dr armani make the hairline design and for lack of a better word poke the holes for your grafts, then it takes another 3-4 to insert the grafts.  the staff makes it as comfortable as possible though, you care barely lift a finger before there asking if they can get you something or if you need something.  i watched about four movies which was cool and listened to some music which helped pass the time.  the numbing was a little bit more painful then i expected but very tolerable.  the extraction for me was the worst, after that your smooth sailing.  that night was rough for me, i wasn't able to sleep at all and i did get sick.  the next day i went in for my washing around 930-10 and was on my way by eleven.  even though it was a long day and there was some pain and uncomfortableness i know it will all be worth it. if you have any other questions please feel free to ask

What made you get that extra 20 by the way??

I always wanted to ask Doctor one question.>> "Is there a tool which measures the density of existing hair in per cmsq or inchsq" .lol . .So that I will be able to know what extra density can be added. Please tell us more about the discussion you had with doctor prior surgery.

savior, as far as the extra 20 go we were shooting for 3000 but they just extracted an extra 20.  dr armani's online evaluation of me was 2900 and something i don't remember, but when i got there we decided to do 3000, which i thought was pretty dam close for just looking at some pics online, but as i have come to learn he has been doing this for a long time and his online evaluation's are very accurate.  as far as are pre op meeting went i just told him what i was thinking: i wanted to thicken and broaden my hairline and i wanted to fill in my temples, i wanted a squarer look where my temples meet my hairline and to fill in my classic horse shoe style balding area. i also wanted alot of density in zones 1 and 2.  he said that's exactly what i was thinking so the meeting went very smooth.  as far as a tool goes to measure density i do believe that exists.  hope this ansewers your questions, please feel free to ask more

thanks mma guy, yes i been on finesteride for about 4 years, and after the suregery i just started using rogaine on the grafts, and since i shaved my head down i realized i was thinning in the back more than i thought so i also started using the rogaine on my crown.  also after the surgery i started taking a multi vitamin, a hair vitamin and msm. any other questions please ask.  great results by the way!

Cotton,

You are going to achieve some amazing results man!  Thanks for posting your pre and post op pics and keep us updated on your progress.  Will you continue to use Rogaine on your crown area from this point going forward?  I am thinking I need to use it on my crown as well.  Definitely not as thick as it used to be but not thin enough to need a procedure...

jaypass, yes i will continue to use the rogaine in the crown if i see some results, but thats exactly where i am, thinner but not not thin enough to make me wanna get a procedure done.  as long as i where my hair the way i have it in my pre op pics no one would ever know i am thinning, but now that my hair is shaved down to a 3 or 4, it's very noticeable.  will keep you guys posted. this friday i will be one month out so i will post some pics

Hey Cotton, while your hair wasn't in terrible shape to begin with, your new hairline design looks great. Best of luck with your growth, looking forward to seeing your results!

Cotton,

Congrats man! Your hairline design looks fantastic, and you should be extremely excited for the months of growing ahead. Like others have said, you made this decision for yourself and nobody else. I'm sure your result is going to bring you lots of gratification and validate your decision to have this procedure done. I was more than thrilled with my result, I hope you feel the same way.

Looks good however for his age im surprised he didn't get turned away? I mean they cannot predict his balding pattern at all so while he's got a great new hairline, i hope he knows this is a total lifelong commitment now. Any other area thats gonna lose hair must get fixed. This is def always a concern of mine.

I have to admit tho, being 38 now, if the FUE technic would've been here when i was 24, i would've prob done it as well. Lucky for me that Bosley over 12 years ago send me back home saying i dont need any transplants yet.

Maybe an update would be nice now thats its been a year...
